Doran Beach
An easy beach entry grants access to a spacious sandy bay. On the south side of the beach lies a rock jetty, often occupied by avid fishermen. Thanks to the protective headlands, you can expect minimal surge in this area. However, keep in mind that visibility may not be optimal. Fortunately, the currents usually remain mild throughout. It's important to steer clear of the boat channel to ensure your safety.
One of the main highlights of this dive site is the wide variety of crabs you can encounter. Keep your eyes peeled for dungeness, red, rock, kelp, and hermit crabs. Additionally, the jetty is home to various fish species such as cabezon, lingcod, monkeyface eels, and rockfish.
Located at Mason's Marina, only two miles north of Doran Beach in Sonoma County, California, this dive site offers an excellent opportunity for beginner divers. With a maximum depth of 7m and visibility averaging around 1m, it's an ideal spot to start your underwater exploration journey. So, get your gear ready and indulge in the captivating underwater world that awaits you at this United States dive site.
