Diving at Chatfield offers a unique experience with its soft silt bottom. However, it's important to note that visibility is usually quite poor, typically less than 5 feet (2 meters). So be prepared for limited visibility during your dive.
The average depth at this site is around 20 feet (6 meters), with some small areas reaching around 30 feet (9 meters). It's a great depth for beginners to practice their diving skills and discover the amazing underwater scenery.
For added amusement, we have placed several interesting attractions along the Eastern shoreline. These include a sunken sailboat with a trailer, a fire hydrant, and even a toilet, all connected by a rope line.
