Bounotsu

This dive site is situated on the western side of the Satsuma Peninsula, facing the East China Sea in Japan. Divers can enjoy year-round diving opportunities, taking into account wind direction. The visibility ranges from 10 to 30 meters, providing a clear underwater view. In September, the water temperature is around 8.5 degrees Celsius and can reach up to 30 degrees Celsius.

The highlight of this dive site is the exhilarating drift dive along the drop-off, which offers a chance to encounter impressive marine species. Divers may spot blue snapper, sea turtles, bluefin tuna, humpback snappers, and stingrays, as well as vast schools of humpback snappers, flathead damselfish, and sea anemones. Keep an eye out for mesmerizing kuei and cod rays that occasionally make an appearance.

The underwater terrain here is diverse, featuring rocky or sandy bottoms and occasional coral beds. There are stunning beaches where divers can encounter rare species, as well as dynamic points where big fish congregates, making it a popular spot for fish watchers.

With a maximum depth of 23 meters, this dive site is suitable for both beginners and advanced divers. Located in Bonotsucho-Kushi, Minamisatsuma, Kagoshima Prefecture, Japan, it offers a unique underwater experience that caters to divers of all skill levels.
