Bonneville Seabase
While exploring the diverse underwater world, divers can discover a wide variety of marine species such as angelfish, groupers, butterflyfish, mullet, porkfish, black drum, pompano, jacks, snappers, grunts, spots, tunicates, and more.
A must-visit location for observing our vibrant fish population is White Rock Bay. This premier diving spot boasts multiple warm springs, resulting in water temperatures higher than those in Habitat Bay and The Trench. During the winter months, fish gather here to seek warmth, offering divers an exceptional opportunity to witness a thriving marine ecosystem.
Habitat Bay derived its name from its past underwater habitat filled with air where SCUBA divers could communicate with their buddies beneath the water. Although the habitat is no longer present, there is a sunken boat that serves as a training site and platforms designed for open water training. These platforms are perfectly suited for beginner divers, with a depth of 24 feet and altitude adjustments that simulate 33 feet dives. It is an ideal setting to put your skills to the test.
Lastly, there is the Abyss, specifically designed for deep-water training. This location provides an excellent environment to refine your buoyancy skills and observe changes in altitude and depth conditions. Despite being 62 feet deep, the Abyss is adjusted to an altitude-equivalent depth of 84 feet. Additionally, it offers a valuable opportunity to practice safety stops and develop essential skills for night and limited visibility dives.
Seabase is conveniently located in UT 138, Flux, Grantsville, Tooele County, Utah, 84029, United States. With a maximum depth of 9 meters and a visibility of 2 meters, this dive site is suitable for beginners looking to embark on an unforgettable underwater adventure in the United States.
