Blue Cave Taormina
This dive site in Italy is suitable for divers of all levels, from beginners to advanced. It features a partially submerged cave and a stunning wall with a maximum depth of 25 meters. Inside the cave, divers can observe Astroides calycularis, Parazoanthus axinellae, and fascinating worms. Nudibranchs can also be spotted occasionally. On the wall, there are opportunities to encounter moray eels and octopuses.
The cave is particularly captivating, with an open top allowing for a beautiful view of the vibrant blue water, provided the visibility is good (around 11 meters). With a depth of approximately 16 meters, the cave is accessible even for open water divers. Beyond the cave, a captivating wall descends to 25-26 meters, accompanied by breathtaking pinnacles located a short distance away. Along the wall, after a turn, there is a bay where boats typically anchor.
Divers have the flexibility to explore this dive site in various ways, making it perfect for all levels of experience. However, due to the limited lighting inside the cave, it is recommended that divers who venture into the cave have a minimum of 15-20 logged dives. Located near the Riserva naturale orientata Isola Bella in Taormina, Messina, Sicily, this dive site offers a memorable underwater adventure for divers visiting Italy.
