Atlantic Quarry - Kelp Forest
Located in the beautiful Schildberg Rock Quarry, this private dive site has been a favorite among divers for over two decades. The stunning "Kelp" consists of freshwater grasses that reach heights of 5-15 feet (1.5-4.5m) and sprout from depths of approximately 20 feet (6m). As you enter the site, it starts on the left side of the entry road and stretches along the shoreline, leading all the way to the north side.
Diving in the Kelp Forest offers a unique encounter with various aquatic creatures. Bass, bluegill, grass carp, and crappie call this underwater oasis their home. Keep an eye out for the massive catfish that often hide amidst the grasses. If you're lucky, you may even spot baby bass seeking shelter in this lush habitat.
With a visibility of around 2 meters and a maximum depth of 7 meters, this dive site is ideal for beginners looking to explore the wonders of the underwater world. Located in the United States, specifically in Marne Road, Atlantic, Cass County, Iowa, 50022, this dive site offers a convenient and enriching experience for divers of all levels.
