ARM Santos
The Auk Class Minesweeper, originally known as HMS Blaze (BAM 6), was laid down on January 7, 1943, by the General Engineering and Dry Dock Co. in Alameda, California. It was later renamed and reclassified as Gladiator (AM-319) in January 1943. The vessel was launched on May 1, 1943, and commissioned as USS Gladiator (AM-319) on February 23, 1944, according to the Naval Vessel Register as of January 1.
Currently, on Saturday, May 8, 2022, the dive site features algae barnacles and macro feather dusters that are actively growing. The shipwreck, originally known as HMS Blaze, holds historical significance and offers an intriguing dive experience for all levels of divers.
Situated in Mexico, specifically in El Tomate, Guaymas, Sonora, 85506, the dive site provides a max depth of 16 meters with a visibility of 7 meters.
