Andes (Wreck)

The three-masted steel merchant sailing ship known as the "Andes" embarked on its journey from Trinidad on June 5, 1905. Loaded with 1,330 barrels of pitch intended for road paving in Chile, tragedy struck when the ship caught fire and sank in Deep Bay on June 9, 1905.

Divers exploring the area will encounter stingrays gracefully gliding through the sandy surroundings near the wreck. The 100-year-old wreck also serves as a vibrant habitat for a plethora of reef fish, offering divers a captivating underwater experience.

Located in Antigua and Barbuda, this dive site provides a visibility of 15 meters and reaches a maximum depth of 14 meters. Due to the challenging conditions, this dive is recommended for advanced divers. The site is situated near Galley Bay Heights, Five Island Village, Saint John, Antigua, POB1448, Antigua and Barbuda, allowing for convenient access.
