American Quarry

The premier dive site for the PDRA (Piedmont Diving Rescue Association) is the American Quarry, located just a short distance from interstate 85 in Dunns Mountain Road, Granite Quarry, Rowan County, North Carolina. This dive spot boasts a maximum depth of 65 feet, offering divers an abundance of underwater attractions to explore.

Divers will have the opportunity to encounter various species of aquatic life, such as perch, bass, catfish, and the fascinating paddlefish. Since their introduction in 2015, the paddlefish population has flourished, giving divers a unique chance to observe these captivating creatures up close.

With a visibility of 3 meters and a maximum depth of 13 meters, the American Quarry caters to divers of all skill levels, from novices to experts. However, please note that access to the quarry is restricted to PDRA members and their guests. If you're not already a member, joining is simple through the PDRA's official website.
